About Health Power Web Celebrations and Honorees
Because Health Power's mission
is improving the health of multicultural/minority populations, and
thus decreasing racial and ethnic health disparities, our Past Web Celebrations and the related Past Honorees reflect the necessity for
excellence in the specific area of celebration. Our honorees have made outstanding
and nationally noteworthy contributions related to the achievement of multicultural/minority
health. Within this context, we underscore that Health Power's definition of health is a combination
of physical, mental and spiritual health.
Individuals who choose to devote substantial and long-term efforts to activities
to improve multicultural/minority health, and organizations that support their efforts
in a substantial way - financially or otherwise - are not only contributing to achievement
of multicultural/minority health, but by definition, but also simultaneously improving
the health of the nation as a whole.
While the organizations with which most of our honorees are affiliated have no specific
relationship with Health Power at
the time of honoree selection, we are pleased when the opportunity presents itself
to publicly salute individuals and/or organizations that we collaborate with to
achieve our mission. Prominent among our collaborative efforts with non-profit and
governmental organizations are our Cross-linked
Web Partners.
On review of our Past
Honorees, and the description of their contributions and achievements in
our Past Web Celebrations,
it is readily apparent why Health
Power chose to salute and honor them. Further, in doing so we contribute
in disseminating information carried in these celebrations to ever widening audiences
of interest.
